Epoxy (or plural component) trucks are complex at the best of times and require an experienced operator. When dialed in, epoxy and epoxy trucks are an excellent, high-production equipment and application method. However, the consistency and quality also comes down to the material mixing system.
Impingement
Impingement is our tried-and-true method for material mixing. Materials in hoses "A" and "B" mix at the gun and require no popping or flushing during operation, making the process less wasteful. Additionally, impingement systems eliminate the need for a third person to be on the truck to mix and handle hazardous materials.
Mix-tube
Mix-tube is the traditional method of epoxy line application, but presents many drawbacks, waste being the primary concern. Because a traditional mix-tube mixes the components away from the gun site and they must travel, the material must be "popped" and flushed to keep the material from seizing. This method also requires additional crew members to help handle the materials and remove waste.
